From Brussels to Valparaiso

17/01/2011

Between the two, we crossed mountains, and saw a llama, cacti and a wind farm.

Monday, January 10

Goodbye to Brussels. After these two excellent weeks spent in the nuclear industry and the Belgian subsidiaries of GDF SUEZ, we have to thank everyone who gave us such a warm welcome. We loved our visit and learned a great deal. Tot ziens/A bientôt/Bis blad!

Tuesday, January 11

On our arrival in Chile after a 14-hour flight

Wednesday January 12

A llama out for a stroll in the garden of our hotel in Ovalle: Laure, who was working outside, was a little startled.

Thursday, January 13

GDF SUEZ built a wind farm on the Monte Redondo site a year ago. The Monte Redondo wind farm has 19 turbines each with 2 MW of capacity. Five others were scheduled to come one lin in the next few days.

Friday, January 14

Back to Santiago! In the Las Condes business district the buildings compete with each other to be the most modern, innovative, impressive, etc.

Saturday and Sunday, January 15 and 16

Valparaiso: four syllables and an enchanting place. We were completely charmed by the colors of the houses, the gentle tangles of the electric wires and the artistic atmosphere of the city.
