From north to south taking in a metallurgy plant – quite a full week!

Monday: headed to the EEC Koumac center in the north. We traveled almost 500 km with Christophe through landscapes as varied as they are astonishing. An enjoyable change of scene from Noumea!

Tuesday: in Koumac we followed a team who explained the remote solar facility system to us. We’ll be reporting on this, so a little patience!

Wednesday: We went back to the wind turbines. Perrine decided to bring a touch of femininity to this very masculine environment.

Thursday: At last, a little time for ourselves. We spent most of the day and evening working on pending reports in our hotel rooms. With a bit of luck we’ll manage to get them to you before we leave!

Friday: we visited the SLN (Société Le Nickel) metallurgy plant right in the middle of Noumea. We’ll probably create a photo album on this subject, as it was like travelling back in time a hundred years. We also met the employees of Endel NC – the New Caledonian subsidiary of Endel – and Socometra. We are also planning a short post on this topic to introduce you to these two entities.

Saturday: for our last weekend (yes, already!) we went by boat to the Isle of Pines, to the very south of the Lagoon. This is the natural bathing pool of Oro Bay. Breathtaking.

Sunday: we visited the two most beautiful bays of the island: Kuno and Kanuméra (above). Perrine is in red. The weather was fantastic, but I noticed to my dismay that my sun cream was out of date. I caught the sun a little…

We’ll be back soon with plenty of reports (if we can get finish them). In the meantime, until soon, for more adventures.
